There is good news on two fronts in the state's fight against the H1N1 flu.

Health officials said there is evidence that fewer people are reporting symptoms of the virus and more people are about to get access to the hard-to-find vaccine.

After long delays, supplies of both the seasonal and H1N1vaccines are finally catching up to demand.

Thousands of people are expected to get vaccinated this weekend at a number of major immunization drives around the city of Boston. Brookline High School will host a clinic Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering 2,000 H1N1 and seasonal vaccines.

There will also be 5,000 H1N1 shots available Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the high school in Hyde Park. In West Roxbury, there will also be another 5,000 at the William Orenberger School.

Even though more vaccine is arriving, there are still conditions as to who can receive them. The Brookline clinic is open to pregnant women, children 18 and younger and people who have contact with infants or women in their third trimester of pregnancy.

The Boston clinics will be open to people up to 24 years old and adults 25 to 64 who have pre-existing medical conditions.

It will likely be at least another month before the vaccine will be available to anyone who wishes to receive it.
