The Boston Prostate Cancer Walk (BPCW) will be holding their Eighth Annual Boston Prostate Cancer Walk on Sunday, Father's Day, June 15 at 11 a.m. on the Boston Common The pre-walk event will take place at the Bandstand at 11 a.m., and the Walk is at 11:30. Registration begins at 9 a.m. For more information call Stan Klein at 617-625-4875 or click here.

Last year, the walk provided $360,000 in grants to Massachusetts' institutions for prostate cancer research. Since its inception and the initial walk on Father’s Day 2001, the Walk has awarded $2,500,000 in grants for prostate cancer research.

In 2005, the BPCW and with the leadership of Jeannette Clough, President and CEO of Mount Auburn Hospital, organized the Massachusetts’ Women Against Prostate Cancer to target women’s groups allowing them to become actively involved in fighting prostate cancer and helping them to save the lives of the men they love.

The Boston Prostate Cancer Walk donates 95 percent of the money raised to research and awareness. It is the largest donor to new research in Massachusetts, excluding the federal government. For information about the Boston Prostate Cancer Walk and prostate cancer go to www.bostonpcwalk.org or contact Stan Klein at 617-625-4875 or at klein@rcn.com.
