UPDATED: 11:58 am EDT March 10, 2008

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Needham, Dedham, and Wellesley will be held at Newman Elementary School in Needham on May 17-18, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Click here to register for this event.

Relay For Life is an 18-hour overnight community event designed to celebrate hope and survivorship, remember those we have lost to cancer, and fight back against the disease that claims too many lives.

Relay teams representing families, clubs, religious organizations, neighborhoods and corporations will join the race to beat cancer by camping out and taking turns walking around the track throughout the day and night. Teams are encouraged to enjoy the great music, food and camaraderie of the event.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event as well as the most successful national fundraiser. Nationwide, Relay For Life raised $405 million in fiscal year 2007 in more than 4,800 communities with more than three and a half million participants celebrating 500,000 cancer survivors. There are approximately 90 Relays in the state of Massachusetts.
