On the road to love, marriage and family there are many milestones: the honeymoon, the wedding and children.

NewsCenter 5's Liz Brunner reported Tuesday that some couples are adding another event between getting hitched and having kids: Babymoons. It's the latest trend among expectant couples.

"We thought we might as well get away now because it's going to be awhile before we get away again," said Meredith Nixon, of Sandwich, Mass.

Nixon is pregnant, less than two weeks away from her due date, and has a 2-year-old at home. The couple came to the Cape Codder Resort and Spa in Hyannis, Mass., for some rest and relaxation before more diapers and sleep deprivation.

"Once you have a baby, your life is definitely different. So you need to remember to take time with each other and for yourself," Nixon said.

Breaking away before baby has gotten so popular it's spawned a name -- babymooning. BabymoonFinder.com lists spas across the country with babymoon packages. The Cape Codder calls theirs Countdown to Baby.

"It's going great. We do it all the time. We offer two nights, two massages. She gets maternity, and he's in the room also," Cape Codder's Bed Catania said.

The suites have snacks, including non-alcoholic wine.

Nixon said that the rest is also good for her baby.

"What's good for my body is good for her. My body's on loan, so taking care of myself is taking care of her," she said.
