CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Actress Halle Berry accepted the title of Harvard's Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year on Thursday.

NewsCenter 5's Mary Saladna reported that Berry drew a large crowd as she paraded down Massachusetts Avenue into Harvard Square with men dressed in drag.

During a roast, Berry brandished a whip, took part in a dance-off and acted in a steamy love scene with the Harvard Players.

"They didn't tell me what would happen. They just said, 'I hope you are game, and you are up for anything,' and I said, 'Yes. That's why I am here,'" Berry said.

Berry's speech when she won an Academy Award in 2002 was also spoofed during the roast, but Berry proved that she can command the spotlight.

"One of the things that I love most is laughing at myself and laughing at this crazy industry that I've been so lucky and so blessed to be a part of. It is something that you obviously love so much, as well. So, thank you for honoring me in this way," Berry said.

Actor Richard Gere will accept the award as Harvard's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year on Feb. 24.
