John Kerry and President George W. Bush are listening."It’s going to be like the civil rights movement of our generation," Bono said.Bono called crushing poverty and global AIDS an emergency, and said that wealthy America can only live up to its founding ideals by tackling the issues."That is the kind of America I love -- face out. It is concerned about what is going on in the rest of the world, and not just about its interests," Bono said.Bono brought his message to the teens of City Year, whom he praised for their community activism."I think you are going to hear about (AIDS at the convention.) I will be very surprised if John Kerry's speech in a few nights does not talk about AIDS," Bono said.He said that he expects the same of President Bush next month."I think most Americans really, really care about the way America is viewed in the world. The AIDS emergency and tackling it makes America feel that this is who we are," Bono said.
