Professor Wrestling: The 'Bad Blood' Recap
Results From Sunday’s WWE PPV
POSTED: 12:46 am EDT June 11, 2004
Happy Monday! Class is back in session. This morning, we'll recap my WWE "Bad Blood" predictions. And remember, if I whiff on 75 percent, I’ll swear to God Mrs. Professor wrote this thing. Now, the results:Eugene vs. The Coach
What Will Happen: Eugene wins handily. Coach -- red-faced -- gets a goon to come down to ringside for retaliation. Eugene is beaten to pulp.
What Did Happen: Eugene won handily. Garrison Cade tried to interfere, but to no avail. Eugene won with a Rock Bottom and a People's Elbow. There was no blood-letting, to my dismay.
Trish Stratus vs. Lita vs. Gail Kim vs. Victoria for the WWE women’s title
What Will Happen: Kane will interfere to get Lita the win. Will she appreciate it? Maybe not right away, but I'm predicting a Lita/Kane union by SummerSlam.
What Did Happen:Trish rolls up Lita for the win with no interference from Kane.
Chris Benoit and Edge vs. La Resistance for the WWE tag team titles
What Will Happen: Edge turns on Benoit, costing the pair the tag team belts. I’d say the two will have a fine match at SummerSlam for the WWE title.
What Did Happen: Benoit and Edge win by disqualification, so they don't win the titles. Kane interfered, slapping around the faces. Edge almost hit Benoit, but stopped short. That Edge heel turn isn't coming as fast as I thought it would.
Chris Jericho vs. Tyson Tomko
What Will Happen: Tomko gets the upset win via Trish Stratus interference. It doesn’t look like Tomko has a lot of ring dexterity yet, but Vince likes to bring up fresh monsters. I don’t think he’ll put him in a PPV match to lose.
What Did Happen: Jericho gets the win after Trish interfered. Vince, why bother introducing new guys if they're just going to look bad?
Randy Orton vs. Shelton Benjamin for the WWE Intercontinental title
What Will Happen: I’m looking for a fairly long match, with the expected Evolution interference. Look for Benjamin to win the title, he’s chased the heels long enough.
What Did Happen: Randy Orton --with the expected Evolution interference -- keeps the title with the old tug of the tights.
Chris Benoit vs. Kane for the WWE title
What Will Happen: Kane will win via disqualification, with Benoit retaining his belt.
What Did Happen: Benoit retains his belt by pinning Kane after the big man almost tapped out.
Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ match
What Will Happen: HHH, an inferior wrestler to Michaels in every way, will somehow win, putting himself back into the title picture with Benoit/Kane/Edge. Oh, yeah: lotsa blood.
What Did Happen: HHH, an inferior wrestler to Michaels in every way, found a way to win in a better match than I expected. There was plenty of brutality and blood, and the feud is not over.
Reviewing my scorecard, I'm going to say I got four out of seven matches right, better than 50 percent. Don't agree? Well, make your case by clicking right here! One other note: a big thumbs up to student Charlie Gray who nailed most of the PPV. A tip of the mask to you.Class dismissed.Professor Wrestling is a masked employee of Internet Broadcasting Sytems.
