BOSTON -- Thousands of teenagers and many adults have been bitten by the "New Moon" bug. They lined up for hours Thursday night to be the first to see the second installment in the blockbuster "Twilight" vampire movie series.Fans showed up wearing plastic fangs and black capes, ready for the opening of the next installment of the film, based on a series of popular books.The hordes of die-hard vampire faithful, mostly women, were screaming and crying, enthralled with the story of a forbidden love between a young Seattle-area teen and a handsome vampire."I've read all the books like six times," said one fan.More than 3,000 movie-goers filled 13 theaters at the Boston Common Lowe's multiplex for the opening midnight screening."It's so sad. You can, like, feel her pain. You really can feel her pain. That's why I cried, seriously. Throughout the whole movie," said another fan.Some said it was the drama, romance and horror that made them stampede to the film opening. Others said it was just plain sex appeal."All the screaming girls -- it's definitely about the hot boys," said one fan, referring to vampire Edward and werewolf Jacob, both of whom vie for the heroine's heart."It's just really addicting to keep watching it ... I just can't wait to see the next one," said a young fan.Many said they went to the film on a school night with their mothers saying that seeing the Gothic love story together has proven to be a bonding experience.
