BOSTON -- Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler may be out of the saddle for good according to recent news that quote band guitarist Joe Perry as saying that Tyler quit the band following a recent concert in Abu Dhabi.Perry told the Las Vegas Sun last week that he parted ways with Tyler after the Abu Dhabi gig, where the Bad Boys from Boston played to a crowd of 50,000, and jetted off to London. He said he returned to the Bay State and read online that Tyler had decided to leave the group. There was no word from Tyler whether the reports were true.“Steven quit as far as I can tell,” Perry told the Las Vegas paper from his Boston home. “I don’t know anymore than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know.”Most of Aerosmith's most recent tour was canceled this summer when Tyler fell off a stage at a Sturgis, S.D. concert and broke his shoulder. He recovered enough for the band to perform in Hawaii and Abu Dhabi.Perry said he thinks Tyler, 61, has been planning on leaving the band for some time. He said he's unsure whether the band will try to replace him and continue touring. The group has been together for about 40 years.
