American cities are falling from grace in each of the seven deadly sins. Forbes.com compiled sinful information about the winners (or losers, depending on your perspective); they might just surprise you.If you’re looking for lust, forget Paris. Head west to Denver. And while Los Angeles and Miami might have a high demand for cosmetic procedures such as facelifts, tummy tucks and Botox, Salt Lake City took top honors as the vainest city in America.A predictable guess for America’s greediest city might be New York, but San Jose, Calif. takes the lead with the help of Silicon Valley, which has the most personal fortune per capita. Search engine Google alone has created several thousand stock-option millionaires.
Memphis, Tenn., not only ranks as the most sedentary city, it’s also the country's most obese. The study looked at 2006 data on body mass index, collected by the Centers for Disease Control's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System. Participants reported their height and weight and survey analysts used this data to calculate a BMI. Individuals with BMIs between 18.5 and 24.9 are considered at a healthy weight, between 25 and 29.9 are considered overweight, and 30 or higher are considered obese.Find out how your city ranked and if your vice is lust, gluttony, avarice, sloth, wrath, envy or pride.
