Sean Young entered rehabilitation for alcohol abuse Monday following a weekend outburst in which she was heckling from the audience at the Directors Guild of America awards. The 48-year-old actress was escorted from the ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Los Angeles Saturday night after sparring with DGA nominee Julian Schnabel, who was up for the guild's feature film director award for the drama "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly."At the DGA awards, all of the film nominees get a chance to say a few words before the top prize is announced. When Schnabel took a while to start speaking, Young shouted from the audience for him to get on with it.Schnabel, who also earned a Best Director Oscar nomination last week, spotted Young and suggested that she "have another cocktail." He also suggested that she should finish his speech for him and started walking off the stage.Music began playing for his exit, but the audience urged him to stay and keep speaking, and he did.Young, meanwhile, was removed from the ballroom. Her publicity firm said that Young admitted herself into a treatment center for alcoholism."It is understood that Young has struggled against the disease for many years," Insignia PR said in a statement.Young has starred in such films as "Blade Runner," "Stripes," "Wall Street" and "No Way Out." On television, she has guest-starred on such shows as "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "ER."
