NewsCenter 5's Kelley Tuthill reported that the Hollywood star threw out the first pitch before the Red Sox-Rockies game Monday night, and he admitted to being a bit nervous.

"My knees were knocking," Damon said. "All I had to do was throw the ball. It's not like I was playing in the game, and I was still nervous."

The 31-year-old Cambridge native had an easier time talking about his new movie, "The Bourne Identity." It's an updated version of Robert Ludlum's best-selling spy thriller.

"At the start of the movie, I have amnesia. I have no idea who I am," Damon said. "The movie is about me trying to get my memory back and figure out who I am."

To get to the truth, Damon's character, Jason Bourne, has to avoid being arrested, leading to a wild chase through Paris. Damon said that the action movie was a departure from his previous films and required much more training.

"The action's really real. I got to do all the fighting," Damon said. "It was five months of training in martial arts, boxing, weapons, firearms training."

Damon said that he has enjoyed his success four years after he and longtime friend Ben Affleck took home Academy Awards for "Good Will Hunting."

"I've been really fortunate to be able to do the stuff I've done, not the least of which is to sit here in Fenway Park," Damon said. "We're sitting here. It's not normal, and I appreciate it."
