Clickers Change Way Students LearnTeachers, such as Walthm High School's Steve Mullahoo, try maximize students learning every school day. Now, he's getting help from clickers -- classroom performance systems. Each student is issued a battery operated remote and must physically enter an answer. Teachers see immediately who is understanding the lesson."I like to think I can look out there and get a sense of what they do and don't get. Sometimes I'm super wrong," Mullahoo said. The clickers cost about $3,000."The nice thing about this technology is it touches every student," said Dan Breslin, a consultant for the company making the system. He said that the proof is in test grades."In Memphis, math scores go from 5 percent to 15 percent percent higher," he said.Students with the correct answers can be spotlighted, fostering friendly competition.
