MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee shared his views on the war in Iraq, health care and domestic issues with an audience of New Hampshire voters.

Huckabee answered questions in "Conversation with the Candidate," an ongoing series produced by WMUR-TV in New Hampshire in which the candidates for president discuss issues on the minds of voters.

The former Arkansas governor said that he has the experience to lead the country.

"We need optimistic leadership by someone who has been in the practical world of making government function," Huckabee said.

The Republican candidate said that the war in Iraq presents a difficult situation because it's not being fought over boundaries or resources.

"It's being fought by an ideology that is deeply embedded in Islamic fascism," he said.
