Veteran actor Dennis Patrick, who had starring roles in the television shows "Dallas" and "Dark Shadows," has died in a house fire.

A Los Angeles County coroner said Patrick may have died of smoke inhalation during a fire at his home in the Hollywood Hills Sunday. He was 84.

Officials say he died with his dog beside him.
