BOSTON -- Macy's Department Store is apologizing for yanking two "gay" mannequins from a Downtown Crossing display window last week. In a letter to the gay and lesbian community, a top Macy's official denied the store bowed to pressure from a group that opposes gay marriage. Instead, he said the mannequins, one with a rainbow pride flag wrapped around its waist, were pulled from the Boston Pride Week window because of a miscommunication.
