In Massachusetts, you are entitled to one free credit report from each of the three credit-reporting agencies.

Send a letter to or call any or all of the agencies to get your free report:

Equifax Information Services LLC
PO Box 740241
Atlanta, GA 30374
(800) 685-1111

Transunion LLC
Consumer Disclosure Center
PO Box 1000
Chester, PA 19022
(800) 888-4213

Experian (formerly TRW)
(866) 200-6020

The companies' Web sites will list various options for buying reports, but you can get a free one, if you're a Massachusetts resident. Either call the agency, mail them, or look for a place on the site that links to your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

If you see any disputed items on your credit report, you should inform the credit agencies in writing, keeping a copy of the letter for your records. You can insist that a letter explaining any disputed charges be included in your file.
