A "Royal Prince" was reunited with its "Cinderella" after more than 40 years thanks to a leaky pipe and a networking Web site.

Dave Gordon, of Arlington, recently found a gold wedding band while he was working on a broken pipe in his 1930s home. The ring was inscribed "Cinderella."

"I was absolutely astonished," Gordon said. "I found an old Philips Milk of Magnesia bottle from probably the 40s -- which one might expect in a bathroom, but couldn't believe I found a ring."

Gordon said at first when he saw "Cinderella," he thought the ring was play jewelry. But it was his wife, Kiera, who noticed the 14k on the inside and realized it was a wedding band.

Gordon began a search to find the ring's rightful owner. Gordon knew the Zartarian family built the house, so he turned to the Internet and business networking Web site LinkedIn to try to find any of the family members.

"I figured it wasn't an extremely common name, so I'd have a relatively decent chance," Gordon said.

Gordon found one of the Zartarian family's four children, Bob, living in the Atlanta area. Zartarian said the ring belonged to his wife, Marsha, and was lost more than 40 years ago when the couple was living at the house.

"He did remember it right away, particularly since his (wedding band) was inscribed with 'Royal Prince,'" Gordon said.

Gordon said he has returned the ring to the couple.
