Mother Injured After Saving Kids From Blaze

A mother who tossed her two children out of a burning building to a neighbor below was seriously injured in the blaze, according to officials.

The fire, which occurred Saturday morning, destroyed the three-story home at the corner of Greeley and Washington Streets in Clinton.

According to the fire department, the children were not harmed in the blaze, but their mother was transported to Clinton hospital and then medflighted to Worcester for treatment.

A dog and three cats perished in the fire, officials said. There were no other injuries reported.

Investigators said the fire most likely began on the third floor of the home, but they are uncertain what caused it to begin.
