Eric Rudd came in 1990, bought an abandoned mill, then another, then picked up an abandoned church. But his real dream: filling the streets of his adopted city with robots.

The owners of Stockbridge’s Red Lion Inn showed up in 2001, purchased some old mill workers’ houses, and turned them into a trendy inn called Porches.

And chef Bill Gideon arrived a year ago, opened up an upscale restaurant, and found that business is good. Interesting things are happening in the city of North Adams; tonight, we’ll find out why.
