January 25, 1982

2) Who were the first anchors?
Chet Curtis, Jeanne Blake and Donna Downes

3) Where are they now?
Chet's down the street at New England Cable News, Jeanne Blake founded Family Health Productions which produces multi-media to help families talk about tough issues. 4) What was the first story aired on Chronicle?
The first segment was a story about Cape Cod in winter.

5) Where is Andria Hall?
After leaving Chronicle, Andria worked on the newsmagazine "Front Page" for the Fox network, as a weekend anchor/reporter for WNBC in New York City, and as an anchor for CNN/USA. She is currently living in New Jersey, raising her three children, and running her own company. 6) What year and model is Peter's Old Chevy?
It is a 1969 Impala, 327 V-8.

7) Who keeps that old clunker running?
Mechanic Wayne Robbins of Cohasset did the initial rescue operation after Peter pulled it out of the weeds in his back yard. And the students at Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford did extensive body work on the Chevy several years ago.

8) What music was the theme for Main Streets for years and years?
The theme from the movie "Cal", done by Mark Knopfler, the songwriter and guitarist from the band Dire Straits.

9) Is Chronicle broadcast live?
Yes, except for rare instances.

10) Do you sell copies of the show?
Unfortunately, we are not able to make videotapes for viewers. However, we are happy to take viewers' names and numbers and notify them in advance if we repeat a show that they would like to tape.

11) Has Chronicle ever been syndicated?
The program was seen for a few years on the Arts and Entertainment Cable channel in the late 80's. And it has also had limited runs on the Travel Channel.

12) Are there other locally produced programs like Chronicle airing anywhere else in the country?
There are locally produced, daily magazine shows in Seattle and San Francisco, and a version of Chronicle on our sister station WMUR in New Hampshire, but not much else around the country.

13) Are Peter and Mary married?
Yes, but not to each other.

14) Did Mary work at a Minneapolis station in the early 1970's?
No, that was Mary Richards. You can learn more about Mary's resume in the bios section.

15) What's the oldest continuing feature on Chronicle?
The Main Streets and Back Roads series, Chronicle's continuing look at life in rural, and sometimes urban, New England. The first episode aired on July 8, 1983; the topic was Mystic, Conn.

16) What's this "Popchron" thing?
It's Chronicle's newest continuing series, a once a month look at the arts and pop culture, including music, video and book recommendations, reports on new shows or exhibits around New England, and profiles of interesting people.

17) Do you encourage story ideas?

18) What's the highest rated program in Chronicle history?
A show titled "Inside Logan Airport", which aired on November 26, 1985, received a 16 rating and a 24 share. Each rating point represents 21,000 households; program share represents the percentage of television sets in use tuned to Chronicle.

19) What's the lowest rated program in Chronicle history?
Strangely enough, we can't remember. Besides, we prefer to dwell on our successes.

20) What if I don't like a Chronicle show?
We welcome brickbats, bouquets, and every kind of comment in-between. Viewers who call our Talkback line at 781-433-4442 may become part of our Talkback feature that runs periodically at the end of the show.
