NCAA Game Summary - NC State At Boston College

POSTED: 8:53 pm EDT October 17, 2009

(Sports Network) - Montel Harris ran for 264 yards and five touchdowns -- both school records -- as the Boston College Eagles routed the NC State Wolfpack, 52-20, in an Atlantic Coast Conference tilt at Alumni Stadium.

With Harris doing most of the work for BC (5-2, 3-2 ACC), freshman quarterback Dave Shinskie threw for 187 yards and two scores as the Eagles improve to 5-0 at home this season.

NC State (3-4, 0-3) has now lost three straight. Russell Wilson threw for 243 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Jarvis Williams finished with seven catches for 62 yards and a score.

Harris got the Eagles on the board with a two-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter, which was set up by his own 70-yard run on the previous play.

But the Wolfpack answered right back with a seven-play, 73-yard drive, capped by Wilson's one-yard touchdown plunge.

BC regained its lead on the very next possession, as Shinskie tossed a 59-yard touchdown pass to Colin Larmond Jr.

NC State kicker Josh Czajkowski kicked a 25-yard field goal early in the second quarter, then a 32-yarder at the 5:44 mark to make it a 14-13 game.

But Harris responded with his second touchdown of the day, this time from 12 yards out to cap a six-play, 50-yard drive.

The Eagles got the ball back with an interception in the final minute of the half, and Steve Aponavicius kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired to send BC to the locker room with a 24-13 lead.

Harris took over in the third quarter, scoring three touchdowns to put the Eagles in the driver's seat. The first came on a 10-yard burst midway through the frame to put BC ahead, 31-13. His next one came on a one-yard run at the 5:51 mark, and the third came on a 29-yard dash with 1:33 to play in the quarter, which was set up by a defensive fumble recovery one play earlier.

NC State ended its scoring drought early in the fourth quarter, when Wilson found Williams for a 27-yard scoring strike

Shinskie added another touchdown midway through the fourth quarter on a six- yard pass to Billy Flutie.

Eagles first-year coach Frank Spaziani spent 10 years as an assistant under former BC coach Tom O'Brien, who has been the head man at NC State since 2006.
