Oxford, MS -- (Sports Network) - The Ole Miss Rebels scored 41 unanswered points to start the game and cruised to a 48-13 non-conference win over the UAB Blazers at Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium. Jevan Snead threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns and Rodney Scott ran for two scores as the Rebels (4-2) prevailed in the firs-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. Joe Webb ran for 121 yards and a touchdown for the Blazers (2-4) The Rebels got off to a fast start when Jesse Grandy returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown. Snead found Lionel Breaux with a 20-yard scoring pass early in the second quarter, before Scott added a pair of scores on runs of one and 25 yards four minutes apart to give the Rebels a 27-0 halftime lead. Snead found Markeith Summers with a 65-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter to make it a 34-0 game. He followed up late in the period with a two- yard scoring pass to Andy Hartmann. Joe Webb got UAB on the scoreboard with a three-yard run early in the fourth quarter. The Rebels extended their lead five minutes later when Andrew Harris caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Stanley. Josh Zahn booted a 43-yard field goal for the Blazers midway through the final period, then added a 34-yard boot as time expired. Ole Miss generated 501 yards of total offense, compared to 351 yards for the Blazers.
