Murfreesboro, TN -- (Sports Network) - Dwight Dasher passed for three touchdowns and ran for another two as he and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders completely dominated the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, 62-24, in Sun Belt Conference action at Floyd Stadium.

Dasher carried the ball 10 times for the Blue Raiders (4-3, 2-1 SBC) as they snapped a two-game slide. Dasher also converted 22-of-35 passes for another 355 yards before heading to the bench in favor of backups.

The Hilltoppers (0-7, 0-3), owners of the nation's longest losing streak at 15 games, were led by Kawaun Jakes who converted 9-of-20 passes for 134 yards and a score, but the signal-caller was also sacked four times on the afternoon in the onslaught. Jakes contributed a rushing touchdown as well, even as he gained a mere six net rushing yards on 10 attempts.

WKU scored the first points of the game on a 37-yard field goal by Chris James, but after that the day belonged to the home team as MTU registered 31 unanswered points.

The run began with a 38-yard field goal by Alan Gendreau in the first quarter, continued with passing touchdowns by Dasher to Chris McClover (23 yards), Harold Turner (52 yards) and McClover again (34 yards), while the quarterback hit the end zone on his own with a one-yard TD to make the score 31-3 with just over a minute remaining in the first half.

Before the second quarter could draw to a close, Jakes converted a 42-yard touchdown pass to Jake Gaebler to take a small bite out of the deficit, which stood at 31-10 at the break.

The Blue Raiders tacked on another 17 points in the third frame, thanks to a 29-yard field goal by Gendreau and TD runs of 49 and one yards by Kenneth Gilstrap and D.D. Kyles, respectively. In between Jakes logged a four-yard touchdown run for WKU, leaving Middle Tennessee with a 48-17 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Gaebler caught his second touchdown of the day for the Hilltoppers, this one a 16-yard effort from Brandon Smith, but a 25-yard touchdown run by Dasher and a 10-yard scoring strike between Brent Burnette and Turner put the game out of reach for good with nearly nine minutes still to play.

The Blue Raiders recorded a season-high 646 yards of total offense, even as they converted just 5-of-14 on third-down opportunities.

WKU has not won a game since defeating Murray State by a lopsided score of 50-9 back on September 20, 2008.
