(Sports Network) - Patrick Pinkney threw for 222 yards and one touchdown to lead the East Carolina Pirates to 17-13 victory over UAB Blazers in a Conference-USA matchup Legion Field.

Davon Drew hauled in seven receptions for 95 yards and one score for ECU (7-4, 5-2 C-USA).

Joe Webb rushed for 75 yards and one score for UAB (3-8, 2-5), and also threw for 116 yards on 11-of-25 passing.

The Blazers struck first in this contest, as Joe Webb scored on a three-yard touchdown run early in the opening quarter.

The Pirates evened the score at 7-7 when Pinkney completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Drew.

After a scoreless second quarter the Pirates took a 10-7 lead early in the third frame with a 47-yard field goal by Ben Hartman.

Minutes later UAB tied the game at 10-10 with a 23-yard field goal by Swayze Waters.

Seconds into the final frame Waters nailed a 27-yard kick to give UAB a 13-10 edge.

The Pirates used a two-yard touchdown run by Brandon Simmons to give East Carolina a four-point win.

Ventrell Jenkins' 56-yard fumble return with 3:02 remaining in the game lifted the Kentucky Wildcats to a 25-19 come-from- behind victory over the East Carolina Pirates in the Liberty Bowl.
