NCAA Game Summary - East Carolina At Southern Mississippi

(Sports Network) - Damion Fletcher rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown to lead the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles to a 21-3 victory over the East Carolina Pirates in a Conference-USA showdown at M. M. Roberts.

Austin Davis threw for 239 yards and two touchdown for USM (5-6, 3-4 C-USA), while DeAndre Brown grabbed eight passed for 124 yards and one touchdown.

Pat Pinkney threw for 189 yards and two interceptions for ECU (6-4, 4-2), while Norman Whitley led the ground game with 71 rushing yards.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Pirates took a 3-0 lead with a 32-yard field goal by Ben Hartman.

Later in the quarter the Golden Eagles went ahead with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Davis to Leroy Banks.

After neither team posted points in the third frame, the Golden Eagles pulled away in the fourth quarter, thanks to a four-yard run by Fletcher, and a 97- yard touchdown pass from Davis to Brown.
