POSTED: 7:13 pm EDT October 31, 2009

(Sports Network) - Montel Harris rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Boston College Eagles to a 31-10 victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas in a non-conference battle at Alumni Stadium.

Dave Shinskie threw for 262 yards and one touchdown for Boston College (6-3), while Rich Gunnell collected eight passes for 134 yards and one score in the win.

As for the Chippewas (7-2), they were paced by Dan LeFevour, but the quarterback had a rough day, throwing for only 152 yards, and was intercepted once in the loss.

After a scoreless first quarter the Chippewas got on the scoreboard first with a 34-yard field goal by Andrew Aguila.

However, the Eagles responded in the final minute of the first half, as Harris scored on a three-yard run.

Boston College extended its lead to 14-3 on its first drive of the third quarter, as Shinskie connected with Gunnell for a 41-yard touchdown pass.

The Eagles continued to pull away in the third frame when Harris scored on another three-yard run, and Steve Aponavicius added an 18-yard field goal.

A 28-yard interception return for a touchdown by Luke Kuechly pushed the Eagles advantage to 31-3.

The Chippewas finally found the end zone in the final seconds of regulation, as Ryan Radcliff scored on an 11-yard run. However, it was far too late for Central Michigan to mount a legitimate comeback.
