GAME NOTES: In what appears to be an extremely lopsided matchup, the eighth- ranked UCLA Bruins play host to the Western Illinois Leathernecks at Pauley Pavilion. Western Illinois has been idle since a 64-47 loss to IUPUI back on December 8th. The Leathernecks are a disappointing 3-6 overall this season, as a season-opening victory was obviously not a sign of good things to come. They are 1-4 in true road games and have dropped a pair of double-digit decisions to Big 12 teams along the way. UCLA has won back-to-back games since its only loss of the season, a two-point home setback to a still undefeated Texas squad. The Bruins are coming off Saturday's 89-49 romp over Idaho State, and all but one of their nine victories have come by double figures. UCLA won its only previous meeting with Western Illinois by a 75-60 final during the 2004-05 season.

Western Illinois has struggled mightily to generate offense, as the club is only averaging 61.1 ppg on 38.9 percent shooting from the field. The Leathernecks are allowing 69.7 ppg to the opposition and are being outrebounded by 4.7 rpg. There is only one double-digit scorer in the lineup for the squad, as David Jackson checks in with 11.6 ppg. In the 17-point loss to IUPUI in the Summit League opener, Jerryck Owens-Murray paced Western Illinois with 14 points. James Washington tallied 13 points for the Leathernecks, while Jackson was limited to six points on 2-of-12 shooting from the field. Western Illinois shot 28 percent from the floor in that clash, including a dismal 4-of-21 showing from three-point range.

UCLA is scoring 75.6 ppg this season while limiting the opposition to 54.5 ppg on 40.3 percent shooting from the floor, including 29.9 percent from three- point range. The Bruins are pulling down 10.9 rpg more than their opponents and have attempted 235 free throws, 130 more than their foes. Freshman center Kevin Love continues to lead UCLA with 16.7 ppg and 10.0 rpg. Josh Shipp checks in with 15.0 ppg, and Darren Collison adds 14.0 ppg. Russell Westbrook is the fourth and final double-digit scorer with his 12.0 ppg, and he has dished out 58 assists. Collison posted 20 points, six rebounds and five assists in the romp over Idaho State on Saturday. Love finished that tilt with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Shipp tallied 16 points. The Bruins earned a 43-24 rebounding advantage and outscored the overmatched Bengals 16-3 at the foul line. UCLA missed just one free throw in the clash.

Don't expect tonight's game to be close, as UCLA will roll over Western Illinois. Expect a balanced offensive effort and smothering defense for the Bruins.
