NCAA Game Summary - Stanford At Oregon State

(Sports Network) - Lathen Wallace scored 16 points to lead the Oregon State Beavers to a thrilling, 65-62 overtime victory over the Stanford Cardinal in semifinal-round play of the CBI Tournament at Gill Coliseum.

Roeland Schaftenaar added 14 points for Oregon State (16-17), which will host the Texas-El Paso Miners on Monday in the first contest of a three-game series for the CBI championship. Calvin Haynes chipped in 10 points off the bench for the Beavers.

Anthony Goods scored 20 points for Stanford (20-14), while Lawrence Hill contributed a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Landry Fields registered 11 points in the loss, and also collected eight caroms.

Oregon State shot 48.0 percent from the floor in the opening frame and went into the break with a slim, 28-26 advantage.

Stanford remained close however, shooting 44.0 percent in the second half, but the team still needed a last second basket by Hill to send the contest into overtime tied at 54-54.

The Cardinal exploded for a five point lead earlier in the extra session, but the Beavers shot 60.0 percent from the floor in overtime and closed out the game with a 9-1 run to secure the three-point win.

Oregon State dominated the Cardinal in the paint, outscoring Stanford by a 34-20 margin.
