NCAA Game Summary - Oakland At Bradley

POSTED: 2:48 am EDT March 24, 2009

(Sports Network) - Chris Roberts drilled a shot from 75 feet away as time expired to give the Bradley Braves an incredible 76-75 win over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in quarterfinal action of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at Carver Arena.

Sam Maniscalco scored on a tough drive with 18 seconds left to tie the game for Bradley with 18 seconds left, but Oakland point guard Johnathan Jones hit a fadeaway jumper for the apparent game-winner with 0.9 seconds remaining.

That's when Roberts, who will celebrate his 21st birthday Tuesday, caught the inbounds pass and threw up a two-handed shot from near his own foul line and the ball banked off the glass and in.

Maniscalco led the Braves (20-14) by scoring 20 points in the win, while Theron Wilson added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Roberts and Dodie Dunson chipped in with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Oakland (23-13) was paced by Erik Kangas, who scored a game-high 23 points in a losing effort. Keith Benson also added 20 points, while Will Hudson chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds. Jones ran the show for the Golden Grizzlies, dishing out 12 assists.

Oakland got off to a fast start, shooting 48.3 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 36-35 lead at the break.

Bradley fought back in the second stanza, knocking down 6-of-10 three- pointers en route to the one-point victory.

The Braves will take on Pacific in the semifinals on Wednesday.
