GAME NOTES: The Northeastern Huskies will try to take down another Big East Conference opponent, as they head to Tampa to take on the South Florida Bulls in the Sun Dome. Northeastern knocked off Big East school Providence on November 15th, and this marks the Huskies' first trip to Florida in five years. They are coming off an 83-75 home loss to Boston University on Tuesday night. The Bulls were also in action on Tuesday, knocking off High Point in a 59-46 final. They've won both of their home games so far this season, but fell on the road to Virginia last Wednesday. USF plays six of its next seven games on the road. The Bulls won the only prior meeting with Northeastern, 65-56, in December of 1997.

The Huskies didn't do a very good job with their perimeter defense on Tuesday night against BU, as the Terriers tied a school record with 15 three-pointers. Matt Janning paced Northeastern with 22 points and seven assists in the losing effort. Chaisson Allen tallied 14 points and seven rebounds, while Nkem Ojougboh scored 13 points. The Huskies shot 51 percent from the floor and held a 14-7 edge in points off turnovers, but they simply couldn't overcome the Terriers' three-point shooting. Janning is averaging a team-best 20 ppg, while Eugene Spates nets 10.2 ppg.

Through three games, Jesus Verdejo leads USF with 17.3 ppg, as he is shooting 42.3 percent from three-point range. Dominique Jones is averaging 15 ppg, while Chris Howard is scoring 10 ppg. The Bulls are outscoring the opposition by an average of 8.3 ppg, as they are holding foes to just 34.9 percent shooting from the field. They held High Point to 34.6 percent on Tuesday night. In that game, Howard led the way with 14 points, while Verdejo scored 12, and Aris Williams finished with 11. Eladio Espinosa grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with his nine points.

The Huskies have been a bit too generous at the defensive end, and the Bulls have the lineup to capitalize.

Predicted Outcome

South Florida 77, Northeastern 61
