NCAA Game Summary - Massachusetts Vs. Duquesne

Atlantic City, NJ -- (Sports Network) - Melquan Bolding's double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds led the way for Duquesne, as the seventh-seeded Dukes defeated the 10th-seeded Massachusetts Minutemen in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament at the Boardwalk Hall. Aaron Jackson added 18 points and seven assists for Duquesne (19-11), while Bill Clark tallied 16 points in the win. Eric Evans contributed 14 points, while Jason Duty registered 11 points. Chris Lowe netted 23 points for UMass (12-18), while Anthony Gurley posted 22 points off the bench. Ricky Harris tallied 17 points for the Minutemen, while Tony Gaffney chipped in with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Dukes held UMass to a mere 37.8 percent shooting effort from the field in the first half and went into the break with a slim 42-41 advantage. Duquesne pulled away in the second stanza, shooting a sizzling 59.1 percent from the floor, en route to the 10-point victory. The Dukes made 24-of-31 attempts from the foul line in the contest, while UMass connected on just 7-of-11 shots from the charity stripe. Duquesne will now head to the Quarterfinal round where the Dukes will battle the second-seeded Rhode Island Rams on Thursday.
