GAME NOTES: Looking to remain flawless on the season, the IUPUI Jaguars will battle the Auburn Tigers for the first time ever on the hardwood, as the two schools take part in the third round of the Glenn Wilkes Classic.

The Jaguars have been a surprising team thus far, as they have won their first three matchups. IUPUI defeated Drake (88-82) and Eastern Illinois (69-66) both on the road, before conquering Austin Peay, 77-63 on Friday. After this classic the Jaguars will return home to host their first game of the season against IU East.

As for the Tigers, they opened the season with a 69-65 victory over Niagara, but since then it has been downhill, as the team has dropped its last two matchups. The most recent loss was an 84-74 setback at the hands of the UCF Knights.

The Jaguars' success thus far can be attributed to the team's tremendous effort offensively, as IUPUI is currently producing 78.0 ppg. Robert Glenn and Leroy Nobles have been simply sensational in the early stages of this season, as Glenn is netting 21.3 ppg, while Nobles is posting 20.7 ppg. Not to be overlooked is the team's third option, Alex Young, who is chipping in 16.3 ppg. The success offensively continued in the team's recent win over Austin Peay, as IUPUI shot a healthy 50.0 percent from the floor and connected on 23- of-27 attempts from behind the arc. Young led the way in the game with 20 points, while Glenn added 17 points. Nobles and Joe Avery tallied 11 points apiece in the win, while Avery also grabbed a team-best nine rebounds.

Inconsistency at the offensive end of the floor has been the main issue for Auburn after three games, as the team is producing just 68.3 ppg, behind a lackluster 38.0 percent shooting effort. DeWayne Reed is pacing the team with 17.0 ppg, while Lucas Hargrove is contributing 13.7 ppg. Frankie Sullivan is also netting 13.7 ppg, while grabbing 5.0 rpg. The Tigers were unable to find their groove offensively in their recent matchup against UCF, as the team shot just 38.2 percent from the floor and committed 17 turnovers. Sullivan led the way with 22 points in the contest, while Reed added 15 points and five assists. Hargrove posted 12 points on a mere 5-of-13 effort from the floor, and also committed four turnovers.

The Tigers have been hot and cold on the season and that is never a good thing when facing a consistent team like IUPUI. Auburn should put up a fight, but the duo of Glenn and Nobles might be too much for the Tigers to handle.

Predicted Outcome

IUPUI 77, Auburn 76
