NCAA Game Summary - Buffalo At Towson

Towson, MD -- (Sports Network) - Rodney Pierce scored 18 points to lead the Buffalo Bulls to a 78-69 overtime victory over the Towson Tigers in a non- conference battle at the Towson Center. Calvin Betts added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Buffalo (2-1), while Mitchell Watts posted 12 points. Jawaan Alston tallied 11 points for the Bulls, while John Boyer dished out 12 assists. Troy Franklin netted 17 points for Towson (1-1), while Jarrel Smith contributed 16 points. Calvin Lee tallied 15 points and nine boards in the loss, while Josh Thornton chipped in with 13 points. The Tigers held Buffalo to a mere 33.3 percent shooting effort from the field in the first half and went into the break with a 33-27 lead. The Bulls fought back however, shooting 55.2 percent from the floor in the second half to send the game into overtime tied at 65-65. In the extra session Buffalo shot 80 percent from the field, en route to the nine-point win.
