POSTED: 10:19 pm EST November 17, 2008

(Sports Network) - John Vaughan shot 8-of-12 from the field and led all scorers with 18 points, as the George Mason Patriots cruised to an 89-52 victory over the Brown Bears in a non-league matchup at the Patriot Center.

Michael Morrison and Vlad Moldoveanu came off the bench to score 15 and 12 points, respectively, for George Mason (2-0).

Peter Sullivan paced Brown (0-2) with 15 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort. Chris Skrelja and Morgan Kelly chipped in with 11 points apiece, but the Bears were done in by a horrendous shooting night.

George Mason jumped out to a 39-20 halftime lead after holding the Bears to 8- of-23 shooting from the floor in the first half.

The Patriots sealed the deal by knocking down 21-of-37 field goals in the second stanza, most of which were scored by the reserves.

In addition to out-shooting Brown, the Patriots held a 22-5 advantage in points off turnovers.
