Boy, 16, Nearly Drowns In Lake

BOSTON -- A boy was hospitalized after he nearly drowned in a lake in Spencer on Friday, fire officials said.The 16-year-old was injured at Lake Whittemore at about 12:46 p.m. He was taken to UMass Hospital after he was rescued from the lake by the Spencer Rescue Squad.His condition is unknown.
