BOSTON -- A rare, and potentially deadly, skin bacteria is infecting prisoners across the state. It's known as MRSA. The infection causes open body sores and is resistant to most antibiotics. It has infected 68 inmates at nine separate facilities since January. Recently, a guard at the prison in Shirley, Mass., also came down with it. The Boston Herald reported that man passed the bacteria onto his son. The Correction Officers union now wants all infected prisoners quarantined.
