Restrictions For Hatch Shell Area

In The Hatch Shell Oval Area
  • The area from the front of the concession stand to the front of the Oval will be considered a restricted area. Event-goers will not be able to enter this area until 9 a.m. Those entering the area will pass through up to four single access points and should be prepared to have all their bags and coolers checked before being admitted.
  • All tarps and blankets will be restricted to no more than 8'X10'. Those first passing through the checkpoints will not be allowed to "stake out" areas larger than 8'X10' for those arriving later.
  • Glass containers and alcohol are prohibited.
  • It has not yet been determined by authorities as to when people will be allowed onto the Esplanade to get into the security checkpoint lines.
  • After going through security, all event-goers will be given a wristband. When the area reaches capacity, no more wristbands will be handed out
  • For the restricted areas, there will be no new wristbands given out after 6 p.m. The wristbands must be worn at all times.
  • Around And Inside The Hatch Shell
  • Area restricted to essential personnel only.
  • Area will be secured by State Police starting July 3 and will remain secured until July 5.
  • Public Access
  • Area from behind the Hatch Shell to near Community Boating will be closed to the public and restricted.
  • Event-goers will be asked to walk down Mugar Way in the eastbound lane to reach public access points.
  • From Beacon Street the public can access the Esplanade going down Berkeley Street.
  • Mugar Way will not be accessible as an entry point to the Esplanade from Beacon Street.
  • Access For People With Disabilities
  • Those with disabilities will be admitted into a designated area at the Esplanade on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Each person is allowed only one guest.
  • All in this area will be required to go through a security checkpoint and will receive a wristband.
  • Parking for those with disabilities will be provided by the MBTA.
