CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- A judge once again ordered the Boston Archdiocese to turn over any records it has related to a priest accused of molesting dozens of boys.

NewsCenter 5's Jack Harper reported that the attorney for the Rev. Paul Shanley said that he would fight the release of Shanley's medical records, including psychological records. Alleged victims' attorney Eric MacLeish said that he was pleased with the judge's order.

"We're very happy that again another deadline has been imposed on the archdiocese to produce all the documents," MacLeish said. "It's the appropriate way to go. It's a very important case for the Ford family and many others."

Judge Janet Sanders ordered the archdiocese to turn over the documents by May 13. The archdiocese has released hundreds of pages of documents related to Shanley twice before, once in compliance with a court order and once when more documents were found at the chancery.

Shanley has been accused of molesting dozens of boys, and the families of some of the victims are also suing the Boston Archdiocese and Cardinal Bernard Law, claiming that allegations against Shanley were known by the church hierarchy, but the priest was moved from parish to parish.

Shanley is apparently living in California and has been difficult to track down, but his attorney said that the priest is avoiding the media, not the courts.

"His availability to the process is a function of a wide variety of things," attorney Frank Mandano said. "If he's properly served to appear at a deposition, he will appear. If he's ordered to appear in a deposition by the court, he will appear."

Mandano said that he believes Shanley's civil rights may have been violated by the archdiocese when it released the previous documents.

Law is scheduled to be deposed in the case on June 5.
