BOSTON -- St. Patrick's Day weekend, no longer just for the Irish, will bestow an array of Celtic fun on Bostonians, with something to tempt the tastes of everyone.The Chieftains
The Grammy-winning group performs at Symphony Hall on March 14, at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $37 to $58. "U2 3D" at New England Aquarium's Simons IMAX
The 3D film that puts you right on stage with U2 during the Vertigo tour. The film's 3D graphics are so realistic that you stand face-to-face with the band as drum sticks and guitars. Show times are Saturday and Sunday 4:10 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Monday at 5:10 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. Irish Famine Memorial
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Irish Famine, Boston's Irish community unveiled a $1 million memorial park. Located in downtown Boston, the park is sited along the city's Freedom Trail, and is visited annually by over 3 million people. Irish punk rockers perform at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on March 15 at 8:30 p.m. Paddy Casey at Hard Rock Cafe Boston
On St. Patrick’s Day, Monday, March 17th, Hard Rock Cafe Boston will host a live concert by Ireland’s Paddy Casey with an opening performance by Boston-based Will Daily and Sarah Blacker. The event that starts at 8 p.m. is part of Hard Rock International's March On Stage program, a global live music series showcasing high-caliber iconic and emerging artists. Franklin Park Zoo Celebrates St. Patrick's Day
In celebration of St. Patrick's Day weekend and Seamus' first birthday, Franklin Park Zoo is inviting anyone who shares the same name as the Baird's Tapir to visit the Zoo for free on Sunday, March 16. Simply show proof of identification (driver's license, birth certificate, passport) at the Zoo's gates for free admission.
